Jacob Peake showed timely hitting on Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead Daniel past Liberty 14-3 on Saturday. Peake drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the fifth, and a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
Daniel got things moving in the first inning as an error scored one run.
Daniel tallied five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a walk by Jackson Crosby, a sac fly by Peake, by Dylan Shiflett, a groundout by Jordan Spearman, and an error on a ball put in play by Brock Jacobs.
Spearman led the Lions to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out three.
Jackson took the loss for Liberty. He surrendered six runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out seven.
Daniel saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Jacobs, Dylan Christmas, and Peake each managed multiple hits for Daniel.
Jackson led Liberty with two hits in three at bats.
