Daniel watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-4 loss to Wren on Tuesday. Wren scored on a single by Ammons, a single by Franklin, a sacrifice fly by Recio, and a wild pitch by Childress in the first inning.
Wren fired up the offense in the first inning. Ammons drove in one when he singled.
Willis got the start for Wren. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out six.
Andrew Latiff was on the pitcher’s mound for Daniel. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out two. Jacob Peake threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Daniel saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. Peake and Jordan Spearman each managed multiple hits for Daniel. Peake led Daniel with three hits in four at bats.
Wren tallied eight hits in the game. Childress and Franklin all had multiple hits for Wren.
