Friday’s game against Wren was a heartbreaker for Daniel, as they lost the lead late in a 7-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Wren batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored two runs for Wren.
Daniel lost despite out-hitting Wren five to four.
Wren got on the board in the first inning. Willis doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Ammons led things off on the hill for Wren. He surrendered two runs on five hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out 14 and walking one.
Brock Jacobs led things off on the mound for Daniel. He surrendered four runs on three hits over five and a third innings, striking out six. Dylan Shiflett and Cambell Guffey entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one-third of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
Jacob Peake led Daniel with two hits in four at bats.
Willis went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Wren in hits.
