Daniel Lions Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-3 loss to Walhalla on Tuesday. Walhalla scored on a double by Woodard in the first inning, a fielder’s choice by Bonadies in the first inning, a single by Barnes in the first inning, a home run by Campbell in the first inning, and a double by Bonadies in the second inning.
The Daniel Lions Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Walhalla, giving up 12 runs.
Walhalla got on the board in the first inning. Woodard drove in one when he doubled.
Woodard was on the pitcher’s mound for Walhalla. He allowed two hits and two runs over two and a third innings, striking out one.
Andrew Latiff toed the rubber for Daniel Lions Varsity. He went one inning, allowing six runs on five hits and walking zero. Cambell Guffey, Davis Morris, and Braxton Reid each contributed in relief for Daniel Lions Varsity.
Jordan Spearman went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Daniel Lions Varsity in hits.
Walhalla collected 18 hits on the day. Barnes, Bonadies, Hanvey, Loggins, Campbell, and Woodard all had multiple hits for Walhalla. Walhalla didn’t commit a single error in the field. Loggins had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
